William J. Dillenburg passed away suddenly on June 3, 2021, at Brooks Memorial Hospital.William, Bill, or “Bomar” as many knew him by was born May 24, 1957, in Dunkirk, the son of the late Philip J and Beverly J (DeWolf) Dillenburg.
A lifelong area resident, Bill graduated from Fredonia Central School, class of 1976.He recently retired from Refresh-Co Corp. in Dunkirk.Bomar enjoyed bowling, badminton, Jack Daniels, NASCAR, Demo derby and “wacky weed.” Bill served six years in the U.S. Navy, enlisting Aug. 23, 19768 and received his honorable discharge July 26, 1982. Final ranking, Gunners Mate 3rd Class.
Survivors include seven brothers all residing near: Daniel “Dilly”, James (Susan), Dale (Kathy) Donald (Shelly), Kenneth, Charles (Debra) and Robert Dillenburg; stepdaughter, Stacy (Peter) Szukala; and step-grandsons: Joshua and Jayden. Also surviving are nieces and nephews that Bill was so very proud of and always had bubble gum for Stacy Dillenburg, Donald (Angie) Dillenburg Jr, Jesse Calanni, Kelli (Edward) Paluch, Desiree Chambliss, Tierra Dillenburg, Shyla Dillenburg, Jade Dillenburg, Hannah (Pete) Lopez, Emily Dillenburg, Robert Dillenburg Jr, Bradley Dillenburg, Kenneth Dillenburg Jr, Daniel Dillenburg; and blessed with great-nieces/nephews and cousins.
Special friends that Bill was so thankful for, Lloyd and Lisa Pasinski, whom he spent many fun times with.Besides his parents, Bill is predeceased by two of his favorite aunts: Hildegarde Krzal and Norma DeWolf.
Family and friends are invited to gather for the celebration of life, Sunday, June 13 at 1 p.m., at the Sheridan Veterans of Foreign Wars, Route 20, Sheridan, N.Y.
