Walter A. Swiech

December 9, 1933 — March 20, 2019

Walter A. Swiech, 85, of Dunkirk and Titusville, went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, March 20, 2019.He was born in Dunkirk, December 9, 1933 to the late Anastazy and Rose (Malkowski) Swiech.

Walter served our nation with great honor with the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1956.

His memberships include Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hedwig and Holy Spirit R.C. Church in Titusville.Walter enjoyed gardening and exercising, but most of all he enjoyed his time as a loving husband, father and friend to all he knew.

Walter will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Shirley (Bialaszewski) Swiech, his sons Gary Swiech of Orlando, Gregory Swiech of Randolph, NJ, godchildren Paulette Morein, Tammy Galindo and Rayan Bialaszewski, sister Sophie Szynski and brother Felix Swiech, good friend Jenny Jimenez, along with nieces and nephews also surviving.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hedwig. Inurnment will be in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.
