Virginia Gill, 82, of Dunkirk, died Jan. 24, 2022, at Erie County Medical Center.
She was born May 21, 1939, in Penulas, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Alsisclo Serrano Santana and Emilia Quinones Correa.
A retired employee of the former Red Wing in Fredonia.
Virginia was a devoted member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, Sacred Heart of Jesus.
She loved gardening and was an avid domino player and bingo player.
Surviving are children: Richard (Nancy) Gill Jr. of Oklahoma, Frank (Karen) Gill of Dunkirk, Maria Gill of Connecticut, Norm Gill of Amherst, and Bill (Mindy) Gill of Olean; a sister, Maria Louisa Ortiz of Ponce, Puerto Rico; many grandchildren, great-grand-children and great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death in addition to her parents are her husband, Richard Gill Sr.; daughters: Emily Vasquez and Magdaline “Maggie” Clements-Gill; sister, Maria Irma Serrano; brothers: Hecter Santiago, Papo Serrano, Coco Serrano, George Serrano; niece (Marta) Torres; granddaughter, Morganne Mae Gill.
In life, we loved you deeply. In death we still love you. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill.
Relatives and friends may call Friday from 4-7 p.m., at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 E. Doughty St.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 a.m., in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
