Victoria P. Swiech, 87, of Dunkirk, NY died Monday morning, February 1, 2016 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born January 29, 1929 in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Anastzy and Rose (Malkowski) Swiech. Victoria was a retired employee of North West Orient Airlines, and during her working years, she lived in the New York City area. Upon her retirement, she moved back to Dunkirk. She was an avid traveler, visiting Europe, Asia, and the Pacific numerous times. Her memberships included Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hedwig, where she was very active with the Senior choir along with being a loyal Bingo volunteer for a number of years; and the Kosciuszko Polish Home. Surviving are sisters, Dorothy Nalepa and Sophie Szynski, both of Dunkirk; brothers, Felix Swiech of Dunkirk and Walter (Shirley) Swiech of Florida and Dunkirk. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc. at 56 E. Doughty St. in Dunkirk on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10 o'clock in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hedwig. Interment will be in St. Hedwig's Cemetery.
