Sonia Maldonado Rivera

Sonia Maldonado Rivera, 71, of Dunkirk, passed away Sunday morning, November 10, 2024 at the Absolute Care of Dunkirk. Born on December 3, 1952 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Emilio and Gloria (Rivera) Maldonado. 

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Sonia and her family made the decision to move to Dunkirk in 1994. From then on, Sonia worked in the cafeteria for Dunkirk City Schools for many years.

Survivors include her son Ricard (Kellie) Rivera Maldonado Jr.; Grandchildren Glorimar, Alany, Aliyah and Ricky Rivera; Siblings Emilio, Manuel, Maria, Oscar, Gerardo Maldonado. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Preceded in death by her parents Emilio and Gloria (Rivera) Maldonado and her daughter Glorimar Maldonado Rivera. 

Friends and family are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc. where Funeral Services will be held the following day, November 14, 2024 at 10 a.m. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
