Ruth E. (Tadt) Wise, age 83, of Dunkirk, NY, passed away peacefully at Absolut of Dunkirk on Saturday, May 6, 2017, following a battle with Alzheimerás. Members of her family were at her side. Ruth was born in Sheridan, NY on February 17, 1934 to the late James and Alma (Augrom) Tadt. Ruth was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 51 years, Herbert C.Wise. They were married on August 15,1953. Ruth lived in Sheridan, NY for 20 years, and graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1952. She and Herb then moved to Phoenix, AZ, where she resided for 60 years. Ruth
had a long career at the phone company. Ruth was a member of the Methodist Church. Ruth and Herb loved to travel while enjoying the sites of the Midwest, San Diego, Hawaii, and their birth place of Western New York.They also enjoyedthe company of their pet cats. Ruth also enjoyed listening to the Arizona Diamondback baseball games on her radio. Ruth and Herb were original customers at the Red Devil Restaurant in Phoenix, AZ, where Ruth dined regularly for the past 50 years. Ruth is survived her nephew and Power of Attorney, John L. (Paula) Wise; nieces Teresa (Wise) Monfort, Mary Jane (Ron) Brown, Eileen Wise, Elizabeth (Dennis) Lewis, Linda Jo (Edwin) Griewisch, Suzanne Wise and Darla (Wise) Coker; nephew Gary (Deanna) Wise; nieces Dawn (Wise) Pawlak,Linda (Tadt) Berek and Judy (Raynor) Thorsgaard; brother-in-law Edsel (Marilyn) Wise; good friends Paula Paty CPA and Carol Smith of Phoenix AZ, and David (Linda) McPherson of Wisconsin; good neighbors Jose and Irma Garay; and other nieces, nephews, greatnephews and great-nieces. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by brother David (Rose) Tadt, sister Barb (Tadt) Raynor, niece Brenda Tadt, and brothers-in-law Lyndon (Josephine) Wise and Melvin (Beth) Wise. There will be no prior visiting hours. The funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk. Burial will be in Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale,Arizona. Flowers are gratefully declined and memorials may
