Providencia Gomez-Carmona, 70, of Dunkirk, died, Tuesday morning, December
27, 2016, at Select Speciality Hospital in Erie, PA.
She was born July 27, 1946, in Naguabo, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late
Bonifasio Gomez and Francisca Carmona.
A retired employee of FieldBrook Farms in Dunkirk.
She attended Iglesia Getsemani Church in Dunkirk.
Providencia liked to laugh and spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are children Jose Louis Martinez of Dunkirk, Jose Antonio (Andrew Scott)
Martinez of Fredonia, Merain Martinez of Orlando, FL., Domingo (Wana) Rivera of TX.,
Miguel (Minerva Fred) Melendez of Dunkirk, Yajiara Melendez of Westfield, Daniel
Melendez of Westfield, a sister Carmen Delia Vallanuva of NYC., Hilda Soto of FL,
Daniel Gomez of Puerto Rico, 11 grandchildren along with nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by a sister Zoraida Pacheco and brother Goyo Gomez.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call Friday from 5-8 PM at the R. Mackowiak
Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk, where funeral services will be
held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock with the Rev Carlos Llera to officiate. Interment will
follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
