Paul Wayne Diaz, 50, of Cherry Creek, Sunday August 12, 2018 earned his wings.
Born in Royal Oak, Michigan, May 23, 1968, loving son son of the late Hugo and Sharon from Cherry Creek, and Carol Diaz of Newton, KS.
Anyone who knew Paul knew of his love for his best friend, his companion and son Sarge. Sarge enjoyed his weekly dinners of either prime rib or Sarge burgers (complete with a shot of Jack). His bark was known all over town, as he was always side by side with Paul.
Paul’s sense of humor was contagious and he could set the mood for any event. He dedicated much of his life to serve and protect, even as a civilian, he was very passionate about life, his country and could tell a story like no other, even if it’s repeated 10 times. Paul was a highly knowledgeable man that enjoyed to get into deep discussions.
Surviving are his siblings Glenn (Trish) Diaz, Benjamin (Tracie) Santana, Steve (Angela) Santana, Deborah Santana, Deanna Santana, Lidia (Tim) Diaz-Bentham, Amanda and Travis Partyka, Nicole and Danelle Panek, Chris and Margie Phillips and many many friends he considered family. Many niece and nephews Brendan, Alexandrea, and Connor Bentham, Angelina (Will) Jackson, Adam, Alexander and Ethan Santana, Bianca Little, Hannah Diaz, Corey Cote, Brandi and Isiah Washington and Isabella Phillips. Preceded in death in addition to his parents is his sister Jacqueline Diaz.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call Friday from 3-6 p.m. at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc, 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk, where a Military Service will be held Saturday morning at 11 a.m. Following the services at the funeral home a motorcycle motorcade will procede to the South Dayton Legion, 2 Mill Street in South Dayton.
