Paul J. Luczkowiak, 83, of Dunkirk, died, unexpectedly, Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at home. He was born December 26, 1934, in Dunkirk, son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Henderscheid) Luczkowiak.
He was a Veteran of the US Army and was stationed in Germany following WWII in 1954 to 1956. He retired from the Carriage House in Fredonia, and previously worked and retired from True Temper in Dunkirk and was also their union secretary for many years.
Paul spent hours in his garden, enjoyed deer hunting, his hunting beagles and fishing; but most of all, time with his two grandsons was the most cherished.
His memberships include Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Kosciuszko Club and WWII Vets club where he played Pinochle at both of the clubs.
Surviving are his wife of over 64 years, Marie A. (Leone) Luczkowiak, whom he married October 16, 1954, children Cynthia Luczkowiak of Erie, PA, Natalie Luczkowiak of Dunkirk, Pamela (John) Crassidis of Clarence, Paul Lucas of Dunkirk, and grandsons Nicholas Sanni of NYC and Lucas Crassidis of Clarence.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call Friday from 3-5 p.m. at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street, Dunkirk. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity R.C. Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the LakeShore Humane Society, 434 Chestnut Street in Dunkirk or the American Cancer Society.
