Margaret T. Borowczyk

Margaret T. “Peggy” Borowczyk, 85, of Dunkirk, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at Brooks Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 13, 1933, in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret(Ludes) Schrantz.

A retired employee of J C Penny’s in Dunkirk, for many years. Her memberships include Blessed Mary Angela R. C. Parish, Church of St. Hyacinth, The J C Penny Card Club, and Peggy also played cards for any years with a group of friends. Peggy loved time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she also enjoyed her bird and squirrel friends.

Surviving are her children James (Carol)Borowczyk of Erie, PA, Carol (Alex) Gizowski of Arkwright, Lori (Dale)Geiger of Tonawanda, Nancy Burt of Fredonia, 9 grandchildren, 19 greatgrandchildren, a brother, John “Buzz” Schrantz of Depew, along with several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death in addition to her parents are her husband, Norman P. Borowczyk, who died Sept.23, 2002, a brother Jim Schrantz and sister Jane Moch.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk. AMass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock at Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hyacinth. Interment will be in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery.
