Leo C. Majka Jr., of Dunkirk, became an angel, with his loving wife at his side, Saturday, July 11, 2015, following a brief illness in Buffalo. He was born September 20, 1941 to Leo C. Majka Sr. and Stella (Swiderski) Majka in Dunkirk, NY. He married the love of his life, Lenora A. Golubski, on September 7, 1963. He was a graduate of Fredonia High School Class of 1959. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1959 and served for three years, at Air Transport Squadron Six, McGuire AFB, NJ. And had also witnessed the last over -the-water testing of an atomic bomb. He worked at Kraft Foods and Plymouth Tube before retiring from Ralston Purina, where he was a maintenance supervisor for 26 years. He enjoyed helping others, gardening, antique cars and spending time at his camp in Camp Chautauqua. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His greatest joy was his family. He could be seen at area football, basketball, hockey, volleyball, and soccer games watching his grandchildren, as well as dance recitals in Ohio. Leo is survived by his wife Lenora, five children and 16 grandchildren. Children: Renee (Mark) Prechtl; Jillian, Jaclyn and Jennifer of Bemus Point, NY; Denise (David) Doane. Grandchildren: Christopher (Karen) Doane, Alyssa Anderson; Michael Doane, Brittany Anderson, Ryan Anderson and Joseph Doane of Lakewood, NY; Lori (Anthony) Calimeri; Nino (fiancee Samantha Wozneak), Andru and Bryan of Lakewood, NY; Timothy (Bridget) Majka; Jacob and Alexander of Dunkirk, NY; Nichole (Paul) Bellair, Haley and Connor of Columbus, OH. Also survived by his mother-in-law Blanche Golubski; sisters Nancy (Joseph) Winkler and Christine (Peter) Pinkoski; his three brothers Richard (Kris); Joseph (Debra); John (Maryanne) Majka and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
