Leland D. "Lee" Lamoreaux, 64, of Dunkirk died unexpectedly Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo.He was born December 31, 1951 in Nanicoke, PA, son of the late Sanford and Beatrice (Cragle) Lamoreaux.
An employee of Dunkirk Public Schools at the high school, Lee had also in the past worked at Roblin Steel and St. Mary's Cemetery as cemetery sexton. His memberships included St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, CSEA and he was a former member of the Dunkirk Moose Lodge #89.Lee enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and K-9 companion Nikko
Surviving is his wife of over 39 years, Karen (Kuziora) Lamoreaux, whom he married September 11, 1976; daughter Michelle Lamoreaux of Mesa, AZ; son Christian (Anna) Lamoreaux of Silver Creek; grandchildren Gabrielle Stevens, Peyton Stevens, Daniel McLaughlin, Anthony Lamoreaux, Christian Lamoreaux Jr., Elizabeth Rose Lamoreaux; sister Sandra Houck and brother Sanford "Sam" (Eileen) Lamoreaux Jr., both of Mescopek, PA; along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Lee in death, in addition to his parents, are an infant brother, Rolland; a niece, Hope Lamoreaux; and a nephew, Richard Houck.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk. A Christian Burial Service will follow at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to RPCI, Elm & Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263 or the Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, NY 14048.
