Kevin E. (Anxious) Kalfas passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on March 23rd, 2021.
Kevin was a member and past trustee at St. Paul Lutheran Church.Kevin worked at the Dunkirk City School District until his retirement in May 2020. Prior to his retirement from the Dunkirk City School District he was employed at Joy’s Auto Center and Triaga’s.
Kevin always had a smile on his face and told his kids, students, his nieces, nephews, and everyone he met that if they needed a smile, he had a spare in his pocket.Kevin enjoyed a life full of family and friends, hunting with his son and brothers, and riding his motorcycle.
His memberships also included Dom Polski’s, the Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club and Exempts Fireman’s Association.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife Penny, daughter Harlie, son James, mother Bev Altweis, stepmother Pat Kalfas, siblings Fred (Brenda), Cathy (Joe) Minardi, Kim (Jen), Becky (Charles) White, Ed (Debbie), Jeff (Jen), and Ruthann Johnston, Robert (Marie) Miller, Greg Miller, Mary (Bill) Bartlet, Ben (Roberta) Miller, sister-in-law’s Polly Lord, and Cindy (Mike) Wilson, along with many greatly loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.Kevin was predeceased by his father Fred (Butch) Kalfas.
Following the guidelines and protocols administered by the governor of NY, relatives and friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m., at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church on Temple Street, Fredonia.
