Julia A. Lewetzki, 76, of Dunkirk, passed away Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021, at Brooks Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Dunkirk, Nov. 26, 1944, daughter of the late Peter and Irene (Cobb) Skrzypek.A retired employee of the former Cliffstar Corporation after 35 plus years.
Her memberships include St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, and the former Frank Aquavia American Legion Post 1344, where she also served as past vice president of the ladies auxiliary and worked bingo regularly.
A charitable minded person, Julia donated to many organizations, Lake Shore Humane Society, Veterans Organizations, and Boys and Girls Club, that are just among the few.
Surviving is her husband of over 42 years, James Lewetzki, whom she married April 28, 1979; a daughter, Cindy (Jim) Ellman; along with a sister-in-law; and several brothers in-law survive. Preceded in death in addition to her parents is her twin sister, at birth.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 p.m., at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty St, where funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
