Joyce A. (Delcamp) Tarnowski, 87, of Dunkirk, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024 at South Buffalo Mercy Hospital. Born in Dunkirk on July 18, 1937; wife of the late Chester L. Tarnowski and the daughter of the late Merle and Florence (Prince) Delcamp.
A graduate of Fredonia High School, class of 1955, Joyce devoted her life to her role as a homemaker, nurturing and supporting her loved ones over the years.
Known for her warm personality, Joyce firmly believed that kindness was the most important daily act. She treated everyone with respect and generosity, inviting conversations with strangers and friends alike. Joyce was an absolute people person and cherished interactions with those around her. Her compassionate nature and friendly demeanor endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Joyce had a deep love for the Buffalo Bills. She also enjoyed spending time with her closest friends, often enjoying rides together, creating cherished memories. Above all, Joyce took great pride in attending her grandchildren's extracurricular activities, reveling in their achievements and being a steadfast presence in their lives.
Memberships include the BMA Church of St. Hedwig, Holy Rosary Society, Kosciuszko Club and the Dunkirk Senior Center, where she loved spending time with friends and going on trips with fellow members.
Survivors include her children Kevin and Bruce (Karen) Tarnowski, Jody (Vincent) Bomasuto, and Jennifer (Michael) Normand. Grandchildren Lucas, Lindsey, Garrett, Joshua, Kyleigh, Tayler, Makenzie, Reid, Vincent III, Joyce and Anna. Greatgrandchildren Lailynne, Decker, Micah, Enzo, and Willow. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Joyce is preceded by her loving Husband of 52 years, Chester L. Tarnowski, whom she married on November 16, 1957. She is also preceded by her parents Merle and Florence (Prince) Delcamp, and her sisters Sharon Barnes and Beverley Voss.
Friends & family are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. at R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc. The Parish Holy Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 10 a.m. at BMA Church of St. Hedwig. Interment in St. Hedwig's Cemetery.
In honor of Joyce's memory, her family asks everyone to practice kindness daily, a principle that she embodied in every aspect of her life.
