Jose Orlando Burgos, 55, of Dunkirk, NY, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 15, 2015. He was born in Morovis, Puerto Rico on July 23, 1960. Orlando is now reunited in heaven with our Lord and Savior, his parents Jose Burgos and Buenaventura Soto, and his sisters Juanita Burgos, Carmen Velez and Julia Rivera. He is survived by his siblings: Justa Burgos, Jose R. Burgos (Jussie), Marta Rosario, Lydia Burgos, Maria Aurora Burgos (Doris), Norma Rosado, Raul Rosado, Angel M. Rosado (Neco), Ana Maria Rosado (Neca), Maria Burgos, Mayra Burgos, Jimmy Burgos, Jose E. Burgos (Macho), Yolanda Cordero, Jameins Rivera, Sonia Medina, Aida Salgado and Jose Caballero. He leaves behind 121 nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Most importantly, he is survived by his 14-year-old son Xavier Castillo, who was his ultimate pride and joy. He worked at Fredonia Child Development for 28 years as a preschool teach-er. It was there he acquired his chosen family in his co-workers; he loved them as much as they loved him. Orlando enjoyed spending his Saturdays at yard sales with his sister Doris, watching novelas, saving up spare change and showing off this piggy banks, participating in church plays, and cooking for his friends and family. He loved the Miami Dolphins and Christmas, but did not enjoy salads. He was beloved for his one of a kind personality, kind smile, funny stories, and attention to detail. He regularly proved just how special those he loved were to him. His generosity knew no bounds. Orlando always had an open door for anyone needing a home. Orlando will be remembered and missed every day by everyone he's ever known. We are all blessed to have had him in our lives. There will be a viewing at Getsemani Church on Central Avenue on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. for family members and for family and friends from 4 to 9 p.m. On Tuesday there will be a viewing at Getsemani Church beginning at 10 a.m. followed by a special service.
