Jose A. Rosario

Jose ”Joe” A. Rosario, 47, of Dunkirk, N.Y., passed away at home on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022.

He was born on March 11, 1974, in Dunkirk, N.Y., to Mary L. Edwards and Jose A. Rosario.

Joe attended Dunkirk Public Schools and had worked at Wells (formerly Dunkirk Ice Cream) for the past 20+ years. He enjoyed skate boarding, snowboarding, his bowling league and his beloved cat, Dede.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie (Davis) Rosario of Dunkirk; along with his three children: Dylan Anzalone Rosario of Hamburg, Kennedy Rosario of Buffalo, and Nicholas Landon of Lily Dale.

Joe also leaves behind his siblings: Debra Kujawa and Jack (Liz) Kujawa, both of Dunkirk, Lisa (Mike) Culhane of Pittsford, Maribel Rosario of Tonawanda, and Emmanuel and Josielynn Rosario of Erie, Pa. He also leaves behind his father-in-law, Steven Davis Sr. whom he looked up to and enjoyed his sense of humor; sister-in-law, Chandra (Brian Perry) Davis and brother-in-law, Steven Davis Jr. all of Dunkirk.

He left behind, very dear to his heart, many nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and two special nephews: Jordan Kujawa and Duncan Perry.

He was preceded in death by his very special mother-in-law, Glenda Davis; brother, Jose Luis Rosario; and great-niece Jaya Kujawa. Also, his grandparents, Antonio and Clemencia Rosario and Charles and Vivian Edwards.

A small intimate service will be held at the family’s convenience and per Joe’s wishes, his ashes will be spread in Mexico, where he enjoyed going on anniversary trips with his wife every year.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at DiPietros Banquet Center (3731 Lakeshore Dr) Today from 3-5 p.m. Masks are required regardless of vaccination status.
