Janet Katta, "Aunt Janet," 74, of Dunkirk, died Monday morning, January 12, 2015, following a lengthy illness at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab in Dunkirk. She was born February 19, 1940, in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Shuart) Katta. A retired employee of NCCS, and past employee of the former Appian Way Pizza Plant in Fredonia, Great Lakes Color Printing and also had her own cleaning business cleaning the cottages for families in Van Buren Bay. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R. C. Church. Janet was an avid golfer, she enjoyed sports especially the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, also she enjoyed her family and time spent with them. Surviving is a brother William (Jean) Katta of Stockton along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews survive. Preceded in death in addition to her parents are brothers, Joseph, Francis "Fran," Robert "Brian" and Kenneth Katta and sister, Sheryl Test. Per Janet's request, there will be no prior visitation and relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R. C. Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Chautauqua County, 20 W. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750, or St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R. C.
