Jack B. Sommer

Jack B. Sommer, 87, died Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk.
He was born in Dunkirk, December 26, 1929, son of  the late John and Agnes (Dziduch) Sommer.
A veteran of the US Army from 1951-53.
Jack is a retired employee of the former Al Tech Steel in Dunkirk where he worked as a Supervisor.
An avid hunter, trapper and fisherman, Jack enjoyed outdoor activities.
Surviving is his wife of 59 years Barbara E. (Braun) Sommer, whom he married September 28, 1957,
their children,  son Michael C. (Carol) Sommer of TN,  daughter Laura Sommer of Orchard Park,
grandchildren John and Heather Gronkowski.
Preceded in death in addition to his parents is a sister Barbara Peters.
NO Prior visitation will be observed and Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10
o'clock in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church. Interment will be in Sheridan Center Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk.
