Helen F. Deszcz

Helen F. Deszcz 100, passed away peacefully at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab
Center in Dunkirk, NY, Saturday, June 4,2022.

Helen was born March 1,  1922 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Louis and Angeline
(Blazejewska) Wasag.

A lifelong resident Mrs. Deszcz was a retired LPN at the Chautauqua County Nursing
Home in Dunkirk and in 1998 was named Employee of the Year.

She was a member of Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish - St. Hyacinth Church and the Rosary
Society.

Surviving are her son John (Jule) Deszcz of Columbus, OH, 2 grandchildren Cheryl (Graham)
Thomson, Columbus, OH, John IV (Colleen) Deszcz of Bellbrook, OH and 4 great grandchildren
Conner Thomson, Claire Thomson, Columbus,OH, John V and Caroline Deszcz of Bellbrook, OH. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband John H. Deszcz (1957)
a son Louis, 3 brothers, Peter, Jerome, Anthony Wasag, and 2 sisters Mary Clary and
Julia Somerfeldt.

Calling hours will be Tuesday June 21,from 4-7pmat R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 E.
Doughty St. Dunkirk. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am Wednesday June 22, at
Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hyacinth Church.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lake Shore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut Street
Dunkirk.
