Genevieve M. Szot

Genevieve Szot, 97, of Sachse Texas, formerly of Dunkirk, died Monday July23, 2018, in Sachse.

She was born in Dunkirk on March 22, 1921, the daughter of the late Jacob and Catherine (Mleczko) Kajmowski.

Her memberships include Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hyacinth, the Holy Rosary and Our Lady of Fatima Societies, and the Dunkirk Senior Center. She was active in the parish, workingmany church festivals, and she served as an officer at the Senior Center.

Surviving are her children, James Szot of Sachse, TX and Jeffrey Szot of Colton, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death in addition to her parents is her husband of 68 years, Joseph Szot, who died December 20, 2016 and three sisters, Viola Kajmowski, Florence Gula, and Dorothy Kuwik.

A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday August 14, in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hyacinth.
