Frederick B. Rasmus

Frederick B. Rasmus, 86, passed away of a sudden illness on Wednesday, February 5, 2020.

He was born on August 24, 1933, in Buffalo, NY, but was a lifetime resident of Dunkirk.

He was predeceased by his father and mother, Joseph and Belle (Penkaty) Rasmus; his loving wife, Louise (Voss) Rasmus and his brother, Edward Rasmus.He has five children: Fred, Joe, Ken, Jeff Rasmus, and Mary Lou (Sam) Gerace; two grandchildren, Brooke Rasmus and Ryan (Daniee) Weaver; five great grandchildren, Damon Malakai, Jaden, K.C., Georgia Rose.

Frederick was an avid coin collector. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, grocery shopping, camping, avid bingo player. He especially liked the casino, most importantly taking trips to Las Vegas with family.

Frederick was self employed for 45 years as a wallpaper/interior/exterior painter. He worked for various contractors.

Frederick donated his body to the State University of Buffalo, School of Science. There will be no visitation hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Mary Angela, St. Hyacinth’s Roman site, 295 Lake Shore Drive E., at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020.
