Francisco "Jimmy" Ruiz, 77, of Dunkirk, went to Heaven on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.Son of the late Juan and Ramona Belen Ruiz, he was born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, on January 29, 1939.He lived in Dunkirk for the past 48 years.
A member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church.An avid Bingo player, "Jimmy" enjoyed the work he did at the local area farms. He also enjoyed church the hymns sang and talking and joking with people.Surviving are his 7 children Freddy Ruiz of Lawrence Mass, Jose Ruiz of Tampa, Robert (Jocelyn) Ruiz of Silver Creek, Mary Lou Ruiz of Erie, PA, Jimmy Ruiz of Orlando, Ramonita Ruiz, Lucy Ruiz both of Erie, PA, brother Evangelista "Gelo" (Teresa) Ruiz and sister Catalina Ruiz both of Puerto Rico, along with 20 grandchildren, many loving greatgrandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family.Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o"clock in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
