Donna M. Carter, 81, of Dunkirk, died peacefully, Wednesday morning February 25, 2015 at Heritage Village Nursing Home. She was born June 29, 1933 in Sherman, New York, the daughter of the late Weston and Beulah (Marsh) Bull. Donna was a former employee of New York Telephone in Angola prior to becoming a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and discussing her strong political views. Surviving are her children, Lawrence (Donna) Carter of Avon, New York, Lorne Carter of Fredonia, and Lee (Jennifer) Carter of Dunkirk. Brother, Donald (Mary) Bull of Fredonia, sister-in-law Jean Bull, Buffalo, New York and brother-in-law Jack Ebbert of Show Low, Arizona. Grandchildren Amanda Carter, Robert Carter, Ryan Carter, Dale Miller Jr., Taylor Miller, Steven Miller, Lisa Carter, Sara Carter, Angela Carter, and Ryan Hudson and one great grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert, whom she married October 3, 1953 and who died December 24, 1987; daughter Linda K. Miller; brother Alan Bull and sister Jane Ebbert. Friends may call Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m., at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk. A remembrance service will be held at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
