Denise M. Kata

Denise M. Kata, 63, of Dunkirk, N.Y., passed away April 12, 2022 following a brief illness with her loving daughters by her side.

She was born in Dunkirk, Jan. 20, 1959, daughter of the late Daniel and Janet (McQuiggan) Christopher II.

Denise was a homemaker who relished in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch drinking a cup of coffee or sipping on a glass of wine while visiting with her loved ones. She took delight in feeding and watching birds of all sorts as well as being a lover of cats. Herb gardening, painting rocks, reading, puzzles, trips to the casino and shopping were all activities she took great pleasure in.

Survivors include her husband, Donald M. Kata, whom she married on July 25, 1998.; daughters: Colleen (Val) Patterson of Dunkirk and Tara Wells of Dewittville; grandchildren, Brianna Patterson, Alexzander Patterson and Brandon Frazita; and sister, Debra Messere of Dunkirk.

Preceded in death, in addition to her parents, are brothers: Daniel A. Christopher III, Daren A. Christopher, Dana A. Christopher and Derrick A. Christopher.

A celebration of life will follow at a later date to be announced.
