David J. “Dickie” Reading, 72, of Dunkirk, passed away. on Friday, Feb. 25, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Dickie was a life-long resident of Dunkirk who enjoyed hunting and stopping by local ball fields to watch a game or two.
His faith was strong as he was an active member of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.
One of his favorite pastimes included playing baseball for Kings Tavern and taking long motorcycle rides with his loving partner, Debbie.
Dickie will be fondly remembered by family and friends as an extremely hard worker. His hard work came with a big reward when he retired from Dunkirk Radiator after 30 plus years of service.
Although Dickie spent most of his time in the WNY area each year he looked forward to the annual Bishoff/Riggs Family Reunion in Rowlesburg, W. Va.
Dickie is survived by companion, Debbie Bishoff; Son Ryan, Karie and Grandson Brayden; sisters: Caroline and Charlene; niece: Amanda Reading; great-nieces: Tiona and Ahviana, Lucy; ss well as many other nieces and nephews. Lifelong friends include Kevin Pearl and Steve Petrus.
There will be no services. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
