David L. Grabias

David L. “Grabber” Grabias, 68, of Dunkirk, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018, at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie.

He was born August 2, 1950, in Dunkirk, son of the late John and Martha (Matecki) Grabias.

A graduate of Dunkirk High School and JCC in Jamestown. David was a Veteran of the US Army, and served from 1971-73 and Received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Marksman Badge (M-16). A retired employee of NRG in Dunkirk.“Grabber” enjoyed to play Fast Pitch Baseball, golfing and time spent with his Family.His memberships include the Kosciuszko Club, Forth Ward Falcons Club, First Ward Falcons Club, Moose Club, Moniuszko Club, Dom Polski Club, Dunkirk Firemans Exempt Club, American Legion Post #62, Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club.

Surviving is his daughter Curan (Mike) Waller, Brandon Grabias both of Dunkirk, grandchildren Victoria McQuiggan, Gianna Grabias, 2 Sisters Arlene Fitzgerald of Florida, Marcia Pakulski of Dunkirk, his companion Donna Logan of Dunkirk and several nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceded in death in addition to his parents is his wife Candis J. (Wallace) Grabias who died August 13, 2015.

NO Visitation will be observed and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 17th, at the Moniuszko Club, 260-262 Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk from 6 to 9 PM.
