David J. Konko, 70, of Dunkirk, NY passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020 at Brooks Memorial Hospital, following an illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Dunkirk, NY, born September 1, 1949 to the late Chester and Eleanor (Wasielewski) Konko.
A 1967 graduate of Cardinal Mindszenty, David continued his education at Erie Community College in Buffalo.
He retired from General Electric in Erie, PA where he made his lifelong career.
David was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and a member of several of the local social clubs including the First Ward Falcons, Moniuszko Social Club, Dunkirk Falcons and Dom Polski Club. He was also a member of Blessed Mary Angela Parish.
David is survived by his two children; Kevin Konko of Dunkirk and Pamela (Sean) Kenney of Allen, TX. He is further survived by his sister, Carol (Bob) Habich of Dunkirk, sister-in-law, Susan Konko of Spencerport, NY, brother-in-law, Paul (Julie) Mroczka of Dunkirk and sister-in-law, Sandy (Donald) Theisen of Lincoln, NE as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy and brother, Jeffrey Konko.
A private celebration of David’s life will be held later this year at the family’s convenience.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests and appreciates donations to the Lake Shore Humane Society: 431 E. Chestnut St, Dunkirk, NY 14048 in David’s honor.
