Barbara Ann Rys

Barbara Ann Rys, 77, of Fredonia, unexpectedly, March 15, 2019, in Panama City Beach, Florida.

She was born in Dunkirk, May 22, 1941, daughter of the late Alfons and Celia (Pinkowski) Gnadzinski.

A retired employee of the Resource Center in Jamestown. Barbara enjoyed travel, shopping, thrift stores, her animals and time spent with her friends and family.

Surviving is her loving son William Rys II of Dunkirk, niece Kim (James) Rogers of Grand Island, nephew Scott (Candace) Buck of Warsaw, brother in law Henry Buck of Grand Island and her K9 Companion “Max.” Preceded in death in addition to her parents is her beloved husband William W. Rys, who died January 22, 2014, sister Mary Buck and brother Jacob Wingertzahn.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk Saturday from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. Christian burial services to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Riter to officiate.Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
