Barbara Ann Mawhir

Barbara Ann Mawhir, 77, of Dunkirk, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, at ECMC in Buffalo.

Born Aug. 18, 1944, in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Samuel and Julia (Conti) Seminatore.

A graduate of Erie County Technical Institute with an associates degree in medical office assisting.Barbara retired from Brooks Memorial Hospital in 2012 after 46 1/2 years.

A kind and loving person with a heart of gold, that will be missed by all who know her.

In her younger years, she had enjoyed bowling. Barb liked occasional trips to the casino, and spending time with her grandpup , Aurora.

Surviving is her husband of almost 49 years, Michael R. Mawhir of Dunkirk; daughter, Julie (Elmer) Vaughn of Dunkirk; brother Joseph Seminatore of Fredonia.

Per Barbara’s wishes, she donated herself to the UB School of Medicine.

A celebration of life along with burial will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
