Arthur P. Casella, 94, of Dunkirk, passed away Sunday evening, July 14, 2024 at Brooks Memorial Hospital. Born in Dunkirk on October 20, 1929 to the late Frank and Maria (Bertuzzi) Casella.
Arthur proudly served in the US Navy Reserves from 1948-1989, he began his Navy career as a Seaman and ultimately earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Art worked as a Crane Operator for the Ford Motor Company in Buffalo for 38 years.
He was a life member of the Moniuszko club and was also a member of the American Legion VFW Post 62.
When he wasn't working, Arthur enjoyed gardening, playing golf and traveling.
Art is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marcia (Sobkowski) Casella, nephew John (Diana) Krug and many more nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Arthur is preceded by his brothers Walter, Sergio, and Eligio Casella and sisters Wilma (Casella) Miehl and Clare (Casella) Krug.
Friends and family are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Fredonia. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Arrangements by R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc.
