Anne M. Czekanski

Anne M. Czekanski, 57, of Dunkirk passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at UPMC Hamot in Erie following a brief illness.


She was born Oct. 27, 1958 in Dunkirk, daughter of Mary Ann (Dolski) Czekanski and the late Robert J. Czekanski, who died Sept. 18, 1992.

Anne worked for many years doing factory work, including Intercontinental Branded Apparel and Carriage House.

Her memberships include Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hyacinth, Dom Polski Club, Kosciuszko Club, and WWII Vets.

Anne was a huge NASCAR fan and loved watching her favorite drivers, like the retired Rusty Wallace and now Carl Edwards; her NFL team, the New York Jets; NHL Buffalo Sabres; and her college football team, Notre Dame.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Ann (Dolski) Czekanski; her sister, Barbara Czekanski; and brother-in-law Joseph C. Kucharski Jr., all of Dunkirk; niece Melissa Olsen of Walworth, NY; great-nieces Madison and Averie Olsen; step-niece Stacey Kucharski; and best friend Betsy Delcamp of Dunkirk.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her father, is a brother, Robert G. Czekanski Jr., who died July 31, 1968; and many of her beloved animals.

Funeral Services will be held today at 9:30 a.m. in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hyacinth. Interment will be in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery.
